Elijah "The Hero" Harshbarger
Gold Medal Grappling is founded and run by Elijah Harshbarger. Elijah was a State and Nationally ranked Freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestler for most of his life. He has also been a successful, BJJ, Sombo, NHB, and MMA fighter since 1998 under Master Lloyd Irvin.

Since founding Gold Medal Grappling Elijah has trained and coached multiple state and national ranked wrestlers and dozens of MMA champions. Including fighters for such organizations as: World Extreme Fighting, UWC and the UFC.

Strength and Conditioning

Kerry began training under Rudy Tapalla, a Level II CrossFit Coach, member of the HQ Certification Staff, and owner of CrossFit Chicago, in February 2009. In December 2009, Kerry competed in the Windy City Olympic Lifting Meet and took first place in her division. She also competed in both the 2010 CrossFit MidWestern sectionals as an individual, and earned a spot to compete on the 2010 North Central CrossFit Regionals on the CrossFit Chicago Affiliate team (she and her team placed in the Top 10 for her event). Kerry appeared as a judge for the 2011 Reebok North Central CrossFit Regionals competition. Kerry has trained under USA Olympic Weightlifting coaches Mike Gattone and Roger Nielson, and later under Bob Takano. Kerry is currently studying to obtain her personal training license from the National Academy of Sports Medicine.

Kerry is a certified Level One CrossFit coach (CF-L1), and is certified in CrossFit Movement & Mobility. She is also certified by USA Weightlifting as a USA Level One Sports Performance Coach (USAW-L1SP).
